NFL flexes Texans-Raiders Week 8 game

The NFL announced Friday they have moved up the kickoff for the Houston Texans’ Week 8 encounter with the Oakland Raiders at NRG Stadium.

The new kickoff time for the Texans and Raiders will be 3:25 p.m. CT, moved up from the original 12:00 p.m. CT kickoff.

Going into the early afternoon time slot is the Denver Broncos at the Indianapolis Colts from Lucas Oil Stadium. Given the trajectory of the Broncos, who are 1-4 on the year, it makes for a less compelling match-up to have in the late afternoon time slot compared to the Raiders and Texans, who are both 3-2.

The Texans travel to Kansas City in Week 6 to face the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. The Raiders will be on their bye after beating the Chicago Bears 24-21 in London.
