NFL flexes Broncos vs. Colts in Week 8

We have a flex!

For the first time this season, the start time for a Broncos game has been flexed by the NFL. It’s not necessarily a positive, though.

Denver’s road showdown with the Colts in Week 8 on CBS has been flexed from a 2:25 p.m. MT kickoff time to 11 a.m. MT, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Broncos were moved out of the later, more attractive time slot for most viewers.

To fill the slot, the league moved the Raiders vs. Texans game from 11 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. On paper, that game looks more entertaining, at least to the NFL’s schedulers.

The last time the Broncos faced the Colts was on a Thursday night in 2017. Brock Osweiler filled in for an injured Trevor Siemian and Jacoby Brissett filled in for an injured Andrew Luck in a game that Denver won 25-13.

The Broncos have since moved on from Siemian and Osweiler, and are now starting Joe Flacco. Luck retired, and Brissett is Indy’s starter. He has helped the Colts to a 3-2 record to begin the season.
