NFL fans were so happy that the Aaron Rodgers trade saga finally came to an end

Nearly six weeks ago, Aaron Rodgers made an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show and confirmed that he wanted to get traded to the New York Jets. At that point, it seemed like the Packers and Jets were at least somewhat close to a trade of the star quarterback.

Except that trade didn’t happen … until now.

After a month-plus of rumors, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday that the Jets and Packers agreed on a trade for Rodgers ahead of the NFL draft. The Packers got a decent haul for Rodgers, receiving pick No. 13, a 2023 second-round pick, a sixth-round pick and a conditional 2024 second-round pick. The Jets received Rodgers, the No. 15 pick and fifth-round selection.

The trade is obviously huge news for the Jets as they’ve desperately looked for an answer at quarterback amid the major struggles from former No. 2 pick Zach Wilson. But for the rest of us, it really means that we all get a chance to stop speculating on if (or when) Rodgers would get traded.

Fans were thrilled to see this saga come to an end. It took way too long.

This was how Twitter reacted

The nightmare is finally over.
