There’s no way that the FOX NFL broadcast could have prepared for this, but it happened: One of the many crowd mics positioned at Lambeau Field was right in the audible path of a Woo Guy.
As Sunday’s NFC Divisional round game between the Seahawks and Packers got underway, viewers at home couldn’t help but notice a fan — almost certainly a Seahawks fan — shouting “Woo! Woo! Woo!” over and over when Green Bay had the ball. All this was picked up by the FOX microphones, and this fan was impossible to ignore.
Seriously, FOX could not have picked a more unfortunate spot for its crowd microphone.
The incessant woo’ing continued well into the second quarter, and NFL fans couldn’t stand it.
Hopefully, either FOX will catch on and get a parabolic mic away from this guy or he’ll run out of energy. I mean, he has to. I hope. Please.
