NFL fans were furious that the season didn’t start with a Collinsworth slide

So it looks like we must say goodbye to the Collinsworth slide, that fun little thing that somehow became a really fun thing each week on SNF broadcasts during last season.

Because NBC’s SNF crew is calling tonight’s season opener in Chicago and the broadcast started without the patented Collinsworth slide, a slide that seemed to bring America together every Sunday night last year.

Instead of the slide we got Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth dressed in old-timey suits and press hats as the NFL celebrates the start of the 100th season.

But seriously, you couldn’t work in a Collinsworth slide, too?
