NFL fans immediately ripped NBC’s weird camera angle for the Steelers-Titans game

If there’s one thing NFL fans have in common, it’s that they almost universally hate needless changes to the game-broadcast presentation.

Fans want to watch football without being distracted by gimmicky camera angles. On Sunday, NBC’s preseason broadcast of Sunday Night Football between the Steelers and Titans made the viewer experience awfully difficult.

As an experiment for this game, NBC decided to use something called a “High Sky” camera as the primary angle. The “High Sky” was supposed to provide a view of the line of scrimmage from 50 feet in the air. But there’s just one problem: A view of the line of scrimmage from 50 feet in the air looks awful.

I can’t believe someone thought this would be a good idea.

As expected, NFL fans didn’t hold back with the takes. Even J.J. Watt chimed in.

Let’s hope we don’t see this full-time in the regular season. The Green Zone is bad enough.
