By now, it’s beyond clear that Rob Gronkowski won’t return to the NFL this season. Gronk has said that he’s staying retired. He’s criticized the Patriots’ negativity. He’s also settled into a super serious role as an NFL broadcaster on Fox.
During Sunday’s Fox broadcast of the Patriots and Cowboys, Gronk was part of the halftime report alongside the usual crew of Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan and Tony Gonzalez. The former Patriots tight end tried to dress the part of a television analyst, but what he settled on had a distinct Bond-villain vibe to it.
He traded in the suit and tie for a turtleneck-jacket deal, and oh man, that turtleneck wasn’t fooling anyone. Gronk will always be Gronk, and NFL fans reacted to the look with plenty of jokes.
