Baker Mayfield showed up to Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos with a beard, presumably feeling dangerous. But after the Browns’ 24-19 loss to drop to 2-6 on the season, Mayfield decided to shave into a very sad mustache before his press conference.
When it came time to take questions from reporters after the loss, Mayfield looked like a man who was somewhere between solving a big case and auditioning to be the next Home Alone villain. He was a player who went into the season with a million commercials, MVP talk and Super Bowl expectations. But after eight games, he’s morphed into a dude who shaves facial hair out of sadness and wears oversized coats.
