NFL fans had fun celebrating the Patriots missing the playoffs for first time since 2008

The New England Patriots lost to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday to fall to 6-8 on the season and, more importantly, in doing so they were officially eliminated from postseason contention for the first time since the 2008 season.

The Patriots have struggled all season, which has been their first without the GOAT, Tom Brady on the team since he stepped in for an injured Drew Bledsoe in 2001 and turned the franchise into an absolute dynasty with nine Super Bowl appearances and six Super Bowl titles.

Their loss came a day after the Buffalo Bills won the AFC East, which snapped New England’s streak of 11 straight division titles.
