NFL fans couldn’t believe the refs made such a bad call in final minute of Bears-Broncos

The Bears and Broncos played the most bizarre game of the season on Sunday, as Chicago left town with a 16-14 win thanks to a last second 53-yard field goal by Eddy Pineiro.

While the first 59 minutes or so were painful to watch, the final minute was a piece of art. Not the good looking type of art that you’d hang in a museum, but rather some ugly piece of art that you’d point and laugh at with your buddies.

The Broncos scored a TD to pull within one. They opted to go for two points but got called for delay of game.  Then they missed the extra point but the Bears were ruled offside. So then the Broncos got the ball at the 1 yard line, went for two, and took the lead when Joe Flacco hit Emmanuel Sanders in the end zone.

Mitch Trubisky then somehow rallied the Bears in the final seconds and got them in FG position with one second remaining. But he got a ton of help from the refs, who somehow called this roughing the passer:

How they called that on Bradley Chubb is beyond me because it looks like Chubb was just playing football.

That gave the Bears 15 yards and a better chance to get in FG range.

NFL fans were stunned:

Not a good look for the NFL, which also had another really bad call in the Saints-Rams game, too.

But no way was that one roughing the passer against the Broncos.
