NFL fans, analysts react to the Giants benching Eli Manning

The Giants front office made it clear throughout the preseason that the team belonged to veteran quarterback Eli Manning despite Daniel Jones’ strong showing, but it took just two weeks for New York to make the inevitable transition to their rookie quarterback.

After Manning threw two interceptions and posted a 37.8 QBR in a home loss to the Bills, the Giants announced on Tuesday that Jones, the No. 6 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, will be the starting quarterback moving forward. Barring injury, this could be the end of the Manning era in New York, which spanned 16 seasons and included two Super Bowl runs.
