NFL executive vice president Jeff Pash has given details on the league's planning for the 2020 season amid the current coronavirus pandemic, including plans that will concern Spurs.
The league are currently set to field two fixtures at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the autumn of 2020, as they did in 2019.
Currently, there are no set dates for the fixtures which are set to take place between October and November, though Jacksonville Jaguars will be playing in the two fixtures at Wembley Stadium.
The current Premier League season is not yet finished, with football.london revealing on Saturday that talks had taken place between the FA, Premier League, English Football League and the government about playing games behind closed doors over a period of four-to-six weeks in July.
And any delay in the start of next season's fixtures would likely have an impact on the NFL and Spurs' scheduling, with the new NFL season due to start on September 10.
And the league's executive vice president and general council Pash revealed in a conference call on Tuesday that they are still planning to start the season on time in just over five months, despite the pandemic.
"Our planning, our expectation, is fully directed at playing a full season starting on schedule," Pash stated.
"Just as we did in 2019. Am I certain? I'm not certain I'll be here tomorrow, but I'm planning on it. That's what we talked about."
On the call, it was announced that the league would be planning to release the new schedule no later than May 9th, and that the NFL is planning for international games to be part of its schedule - meaning games set for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wembley Stadium are very much in the planning process.
