NFL Draft will be held in Cleveland in 2021 and Kansas City in 2023

The headline really says it all. The NFL will be taking its draft talents to Cleveland in 2021 and Kansas City in 2023. The site for the 2022 draft currently remains a mystery, but it would be a surprise if the league didn’t choose from the contenders sooner than later since they already announced the 2023 location.

The NFL is now handing out hosting the draft like it’s a mini-Super Bowl. Honestly, it gives cities that simply can’t host a Super Bowl a chance to have a marquee NFL event in their city. Cleveland, Kansas City, Denver, Green Bay, New England, and other cold-weather cities simply don’t have a shot to host a Super Bowl. The weather won’t allow them to do it and the media who cover the sport would rip the league to shreds for taking away one of their vacations while they are doing their job.

So the NFL made the correct move and started giving the draft to cities that would never be able to host the big game in a thousand years. It is rewarding die-hard fanbases who get to show that they can have a good time and be a great host all while not even having an actual football game in their city. The NFL is an absolute master at building up hype, creating engaging events, and figuring out new ways to bring in revenue. This is just another example of that.
