NFL Draft: 26 first-round picks have been assigned their numbers

The different offseason continues for NFL teams because of the pandemic. Last week, 14 first-round players found out what digits they would wear in the pros. Over the past week, another dozen have gotten their jersey numbers. That means 26 players know what number they will wear as they move into the NFL with six awaiting the news.

Arizona: Isaiah Simmons

The hybrid Clemson star will be a major player for Arizona. He won’t wear No. 11 that he wore for the Tigers. Isaiah Simmons will don No. 48.

Atlanta Falcons: A.J. Terrell

A.J. Terrell from Clemson will hope to assist the Atlanta secondary. The Tiger will go from No. 8 to No. 24.

Baltimore Ravens: Patrick Queen

Patrick Queen will wear the same number as one of the players LSU faced in the College Football Playoff. Like Clemson and Arizona’s Isaiah Simmons, Queen has been given No. 48.

Carolina Panthers: Derrick Brown

Selected seventh overall, Brown will wear No. 95 after sporting No. 5 in college at Auburn. It’s the first time in franchise history that a Panthers first-round pick will wear the number. The most notable No. 95 in franchise history is former defensive end Charles Johnson, who wore it from 2007-2017.

Joe Burrow keeps the No. 9 he wore as he won the 2019 Heisman Trophy and led LSU to the national championship.

Dallas Cowboys

Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb is going to have a big jersey to fill with the Cowboys. The No. 88 has been worn by legends Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, and Dez Bryant. Now, the Sooner wideout will don those digits.

Denver Broncos: Jerry Jeudy

Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy will be counted on as one of the speedy threats to go deep for Denver’s Drew Lock. Jeudy will wear No. 10 for the Broncos.

Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love will keep the number he wore at Utah State: 10.

Jacksonville Jaguars: 1a) CJ Henderson

The Jacksonville Jaguars stayed in-state with the ninth overall pick, drafting Florida DB CJ Henderson. The former Gator will add to his college number of 1. Henderson has been assigned No. 21 by the Jaguars.

Jacksonville Jaguars: 1b) K’Lavon Chaisson

Another of the slew of LSU Tigers who heard their names called over the three days of the NFL Draft, linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson will go from the Tigers to the Jaguars, staying in the cat family, and will wear No. 45 for Doug Marrone & Co. Linebackers are not allowed to wear No. 18 in the pros.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Super Bowl champions picked Clyde Edwards-Helaire of LSU with the 32nd pick in the first round. They were quick to assign No. 25 to him. That is three numbers of up from what he wore in Baton Rouge.

Las Vegas Raiders: 1a) Henry Ruggs

Alabama wideout Henry Ruggs was the 12th overall pick in the first round. He will don No. 11 for the Raiders as they move to Las Vegas. That is the same number he wore with the Crimson Tide.

Las Vegas Raiders: 1b) Damon Arnette

The Raiders’ second, first-round pick was Damon Arnette, a DB from Ohio State. The 6-0, 195-pounder will look to roam the secondary in No. 20, one digit above where he was taken by Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock.

Los Angeles Chargers: 1a) Justin Herbert

Justin Herbert is anther quarterback who will keep the number he wore in college The Oregon Duck will go to the Los Angeles Chargers and will don No. 10.

Los Angeles Chargers: 1b) Kenneth Murray

Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray was coveted by the Chargers. He will wear No. 56 for the Bolts. Another of the college players who wore a number that worked on Saturday but doesn’t play on Sunday.

Miami Dolphins: 1a) Tua Tagovailoa

The former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa wore No. 13 in college. Those digits have been retired, courtesy of Dan Marino, with the Dolphins. Tagovailoa will wear another sweet digit with the Fish. He will be No. 1, fitting for a first-round pick.

Miami Dolphins: 1b) Austin Jackson

USC offensive lineman will be tasked with protecting Tua Tagovailoa after being chosen by the Dolphins 18th overall with a pick acquired from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade. The former Trojan will keep his college number, 73.

Miami Dolphins: 1c) Noah Igbinoghene

Noah Igbinoghene was the third player the Miami Dolphins took in the first round for Brian Flores. The cornerback from Auburn will wear No. 46 … for now.

Minnesota Vikings 1a) Justin Jefferson

Another LSU product, Justin Jefferson went to the Tigers with the 22nd overall pick. Jefferson, who will be expected to be up some of the slack for the departed Stefon Diggs, will wear No. 18 for the Purple.

TCU defensive back Jeff Gladney was the second first-round choice of the Vikings. The 31st overall pick will wear No. 20 in his rookie season.

New Orleans Saints: Cesar Ruiz

Michigan offensive lineman Cesar Ruiz comes to the Big Easy and was assigned No. 51. Those are the same digits he wore for the Maize and Blue.

San Francisco 49ers: 1a) Javon Kinlaw

South Carolina’s Javon Kinlaw will make the long journey across the country to become part of the team that made it to the Super Bowl only to lose to the Kansas City Chiefs. Kinlaw has been assigned No. 99.

San Francisco 49ers: 1b) Brandon Aiyuk

Arizona State’s Brandon Aiyuk was the Niners’ second pick in the opening round. The Sun Devil heads to the Golden State where he will wear No. 11.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tristan Wirfs

He’s 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds and the Bucs will count on Tristan Wirfs to protect Tom Brady. The offensive lineman from Iowa who can leap out of a swimming pool is going to be No. 78 for Bruce Arians’ team.

Tennesee Titans: Isaiah Wilson

He won’t be hard to find at 6-foot-6 and 350 pounds. If you are wondering who No. 79 is blocking for Ryan Tannehill, it is Georgia’s Isaiah Wilson.

Washington Redskins: Chase Young

There was no reason to think Chase Young would keep his No. 2 from Ohio State in the NFL. That number is not positionally fitting for a defensive lineman. So, the former Buckeye star had to choose different digits and he went with 99.
