NFL DFS Week 8 optimal lineup

Devising the perfect Daily Fantasy Sports strategy for the NFL can be a challenge, which is why I’m here to assist.

On DraftKings, it’s important to remember you’re playing full-point PPR with bonuses if a player surpasses 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards or 100 receiving yards.

Here is my optimal lineup for Sunday’s $3.5 million Fantasy Football Millionaire contest, but can be utilized as a foundation in other games and platforms.

All prices listed are courtesy of DraftKings with a $50,000 budget.

— QB: Josh Allen, Bills ($8,100)

It makes sense to pay the premium for Allen against the Dolphins (he owns them) while Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott and Kirk Cousins are all missing from the Sunday slate.

— RB: Joe Mixon, Bengals ($6,900)

The Jets’ run defense has given up the second-most touchdowns (11) and the third-most explosive rushing plays of 10 or more yards (26) through seven weeks.

— RB: James Robinson, Jaguars ($6,600)

Starting running backs are averaging 145.4 total yards per game against the Seahawks, who have also surrendered an NFL-worst 495 receiving yards to the position.

— WR: DJ Moore, Panthers ($7,200)

Moore has double-digit targets in five out of his seven games this season. This is an opportunity to buy a perceived dip because of Sam Darnold’s recent poor play.

— WR: Michael Pittman Jr., Colts ($5,300)

With back-to-back wins over the Chiefs and Bills, I expect a let-down for the Titans. Pittman can beat their secondary deep and provides leverage against a chalky Jonathan Taylor.

— WR: Cole Beasley, Bills ($4,900)

Tight end Dawson Knox is sidelined with a broken hand, which should open up plenty of intermediate targets for Beasley. The Dolphins have faced the second-most targets and allowed the second-most receptions to slot receivers this season.

— TE: Mike Gesicki, Dolphins ($5,000)

I’m anticipating Miami playing from behind so I’m bringing it back against my mini-Bills stack with Gesicki. He has at least eight receptions, 86 yards or a touchdown in four the last five games.

— FLEX: Pat Freiermuth, Steelers ($3,600)

The rookie’s workload should increase with Eric Ebron sidelined due to a hamstring injury. Freiermuth had 58 yards on seven receptions (seven targets) against the Seahawks before the bye week.

— DST: Washington Football Team ($2,100)

I’m buying a defensive line that’s beginning to get its groove back against a struggling offensive line.
