NFL DFS Week 18 optimal lineup

Devising the perfect Daily Fantasy Sports strategy for the NFL can be a challenge, which is why I'm here to assist.

On DraftKings, it's important to remember you're playing full-point PPR with bonuses if a player surpasses 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards or 100 receiving yards.

Here is my optimal lineup for Sunday's $3 million Fantasy Football Millionaire contest, but it can be utilized as a foundation in other games and platforms.

All prices listed are courtesy of DraftKings with a $50,000 budget.

These lineups have netted $285, so that leaves me $55 in the hole.

— QB: Taysom Hill, Saints ($6,200)

The Falcons defense seems tailor made for Hill to smash. It has struggled against mobile quarterbacks all season — Josh Allen had 81 rushing yards and two touchdowns against Atlanta last week.

— RB: Jonathan Taylor, Colts ($9,300)

Taylor is 266 yards from 2,000. If you think there's no chance he does it, he torched the Jaguars for 253 yards and two touchdowns in the 2020 season finale.

— RB: Patrick Taylor, Packers ($4,000)

Taylor is the classic punt option and likely the only way you can fit two $9,000-plus salaries in your lineup. I don't believe Green Bay will play Aaron Jones or A.J. Dillon much (if at all) with the top overall seed in the NFC already secured and the Lions are a premium matchup for running backs.

— WR: Cooper Kupp, Rams ($9,700)

Kupp had 122 yards on 11 receptions against the 49ers in Week 10, which feels like his floor here. He is 171 yards shy of 2,000 and needs 12 catches to reach 150 — it feels like I'm making that up, but I'm not.

— WR: Chase Claypool, Steelers ($5,100)

The Ravens have given up the most fantasy points per game to receivers over the past six weeks and this is likely Ben Roethlisberger's last game.

— WR: Marquez Callaway, Saints ($5,000)

Callaway has the seventh-best target share (29%) since Week 14 — with averages of 72 yards and five receptions — and should be able to take advantage of the Falcons secondary for at least one big play.

— TE: John Bates, Football Team ($3,000)

Washington tight ends have been a solid play this entire season and Bates is the next man up after Ricky Seals-Jones suffered a concussion last week.

— FLEX: Gabriel Davis, Bills ($4,900)

Davis only needed three targets to produce 105 yards in Week 10 against the Jets. He's averaged six targets the last month with Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley banged up.

— DST: Cleveland Browns ($2,600)

This unit improved significantly over the course of this season — it has allowed 16 or fewer points in six of its last 10 games — and will face Brandon Allen at quarterback in the finale. Allen is 2-6 in eight career starts with an average of 180 yards and a 57 percent completion percentage. The Browns created three turnovers, sacked Joe Burrow five times and scored a touchdown in Week 9 in Cincinnati.
