Devising the perfect Daily Fantasy Sports strategy for the NFL can be a challenge, which is why I'm here to assist.
On DraftKings, it's important to remember you're playing full-point PPR with bonuses if a player surpasses 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards or 100 receiving yards.
Here is my optimal lineup for Sunday's $3 million Fantasy Football Millionaire contest, but can be utilized as a foundation in other games and platforms.
All prices listed are courtesy of DraftKings with a $50,000 budget.
These lineups have netted $285, so that leaves me $35 in the hole.
— QB: Trey Lance, 49ers ($4,800)
The No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft produced 36 DraftKings points across six quarters against the Seahawks and Cardinals in early October (and he didn't play particularly well). A matchup against the Texans is the perfect opportunity to showcase what he's learned since then.
— RB: Jonathan Taylor, Colts ($9,000)
Taylor has produced 1,048 total yards and 12 total touchdowns in the last seven games while averaging 27 touches per game.
— RB: Rashaad Penny, Seahawks ($6,100)
In five career games with 12-plus carries, Penny has 583 yards and six touchdowns.
— WR: Brandin Cooks, Texans ($6,000)
The 49ers' banged up and young cornerbacks are susceptible to being beat with the deep ball. In their last six games, they've allowed smash production from these receivers: A.J. Brown (11 receptions, 145 yards and a TD), Tee Higgins (5-114), Russell Gage (8-91-1), Ja'Marr Chase (5-77-2), Tyler Lockett (7-68-1) and Adam Thielen (5-62-2).
— WR: Odell Beckham Jr., Rams ($5,700)
OBJ is the WR17 in PPR formats since Week 12 and provides solid leverage on the substantial Cooper Kupp chalk, especially if a banged up Ravens secondary dedicates extra resources to slowing Kupp.
— WR: Darnell Mooney, Bears ($5,500)
Andy Dalton will start against the hapless Giants. Dalton's last significant stretch of playing time (Weeks 11 thru 13) led to Mooney producing as fantasy's WR10 across all formats.
— TE: Foster Moreau, Raiders ($3,800)
Darren Waller is out again and Moreau faces a Colts defense that has allowed at least five receptions or a touchdown to tight ends in 13 of 15 games this season.
— FLEX: Ronald Jones, Buccaneers ($6,300)
Jones received 22 touches in his first start with Leonard Fournette on injured reserve. He faces a Jets defense giving up 35 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, and Tampa Bay is a double-digit favorite.
— DST: Miami Dolphins ($2,800)
The Titans have one healthy offensive weapon and Brian Flores, a Belichick disciple, knows how to isolate and shut the other team's best player down. Only the Cowboys have been a better fantasy defense since Week 9. The Dolphins have averaged 15.1 DraftKings points over that span.
