NFL Confirms Date for 2023 Schedule Release

After months of speculation, the NFL announced on Monday the official date for the upcoming release of the 2023 schedule.

The league confirmed the schedule will be released on Thursday, May 11, on NFL Network with a three-hour special, beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

The upcoming schedule will include several changes that will be effective in 2023 and beyond. Beginning this fall, all teams could face the possibility of playing twice on Thursday Night Football, no team will be guaranteed a game on primetime and no network will reserve rights to games–allowing more room for flex scheduling.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the 2023 schedule will also notably include, for the first time, 14 playoff rematches, including a Super Bowl LVII rematch between the Eagles and reigning champion Chiefs. Other playoff rematches reportedly set to take place next season also include both the AFC and NFC championship games between the Bengals and Kansas City and 49ers vs. Philadelphia, as well as all four divisional round games.

With the news now official, NFL fans can officially mark their calendars for the much-anticipated release, which is sure to feature creative drops from teams around the league.

In addition to Thursday’s upcoming release, the NFL is also expected to announce international games and introduce the first-ever Black Friday game on Wednesday, per multiple reports.
