The Cincinnati Bengals will be out in full force at the 2020 NFL scouting combine, where Joe Burrow headlines the action.
While which prospects partake in drills — including Burrow — remains to be seen, the presence of entirely new drills has now been confirmed by the league.
Perhaps the most notable from a Bengals perspective is the addition of an endzone fade drill. Quarterbacks will get to show off their acumen in this area, which should be especially interesting for an offense that could again feature guys like A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert.
There are a total of 16 new drills. The “timed smoke/now route drill” will test a quarterback’s ability while things quickly break down and linebackers, notably, will partake in new drills to test their agility as a means to keep up in coverage.
Given the magnitude of this year’s combine and draft for the Bengals, it’s nice to see the league modernizing some of its testings in order to better reflect today’s game.
