NFL.com redrafts the 2017 NFL Draft, gives Miami a linebacker

The 2019 NFL Draft is just two days away — blissful optimism is in the air for all 32 franchises. Another way to tell that its officially draft season? The re-drafts of NFL Drafts of years past. NFL.com’s Adam Rank re-drafted the 2017 NFL Draft yesterday and gave the Dolphins a new starting linebacker.

Of course, the team actually drafted defensive end Charles Harris, who has struggled to find his footing through two seasons in the pros and was not picked during Rank’s re-draft of the first round from 2017. With just 3 career sacks, Harris is entering a “prove it” season with the Dolphins.

As for Rank’s new assignment of Miami’s 22nd pick, Miami was given LB Jarrad Davis (Detroit). Davis has been up and down through his first two years as a pro, but he’s credited with 196 tackles, 8 sacks and 1 interception through his first two pro seasons.

Davis’ presence on Miami’s second level would give them an exciting young trio of linebackers, setting that position group in stone with the exception of any depth issues that may remain.
