NFL.com ranks Giants’ Evan Engram among NFL’s top 10 TEs

Already this year, we’ve seen the hype build around New York Giants tight end Evan Engram.

Pro Football Focus ranked Engram among the best tight ends in football, while executives, coaches and scouts from across the league heaped praise upon him.

Even EA Sports, which often docks frequently injured players, gave Engram an 88 rating in Madden 21, which was among the highest grades for a tight end in the game.

That optimistic trend continued on Friday when David Carr, a former Giants quarterback  and currently NFL.com analyst, ranked Engram as the 10th-best tight end in football.

Engram often flies under the radar because he’s on a struggling Giants team that’s trying to find its offensive identity. But make no mistake: The fourth-year pro is a nightmare matchup in the passing game as a crafty route runner and asset in the run game (much like Ertz). With a full recovery from knee and foot injuries that forced him to miss the second half of last season, Engram is in good position to have a career year as quarterback Daniel Jones continues to develop.

Although it sounds like a broken record at this point, the only thing keeping Engram from superstardom is health. When he’s on the field and playing well, there is no one better in the NFL. Unfortunately, that has become a rarity over his first three seasons.
