NFL.com names Kirk Cousins as a veteran winner after draft

The Vikings are heavily invested in quarterback Kirk Cousins.

That’s pretty obvious considering the team signed him to a three-year, $84 million contract last year.

They further proved that in the 2019 NFL Draft. Cousins was named as a veteran who was most helped by the draft via NFL.com.

The first four picks for this team came on the offensive side of the ball. They drafted offensive lineman Garrett Bradbury in the first round, tight end Irv Smith Jr. in the second, running back Alexander Mattison in the third, and guard Dru Samia in the fourth.

Cousins has all the tools around him to succeed in this offense. Obviously, a lot depends on how the offensive line holds up. If Bradbury can come in and be an instant impact rookie and the offensive line avoids major injuries, they should be OK.

At the very least, Vikings GM Rick Spielman did about all he could to make sure Cousins succeeds.
