NFL.com lists two ideal draft prospects for the Vikings

The Vikings have some immediate needs that have to be addressed for 2021. Minnesota needs help in the trenches on both sides of the ball, but the team needs to make sure it has prospects who could help the team beyond the 2021 season.

NFL.com’s Chad Reuter has a plan. Reuter named two ideal draft prospects for the Vikings: One that can help right away and one that can possibly pay off down the road.

Reuter tabbed Virginia Tech OT Christian Darrisaw and Florida QB Kyle Trask as good options for Minnesota. Here’s what he wrote:

“Picking up the third-best left tackle in the draft at No. 14 would be ideal following the departure of veteran Riley Reiff. Quarterback Kirk Cousins will value Darrisaw’s strength in pass protection, and his agility and power in the run game will be appreciated by stud back Dalvin Cook. Trask reminds me of Nick Foles, projecting as a solid backup for Cousins in the short term and potentially working his way into a starting role in time.”

Landing Darrisaw in the first and landing Trask in the third round of this draft would be a homer for the Vikings. I don’t think Trask is a can’t-miss quarterback prospect by any means, but he does have upside that could make him an enticing option.
