NFL cancels spring meeting due to concerns about the coronavirus

On Thursday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell informed all 32 NFL teams that their spring meeting, scheduled to begin on March 29 will be canceled amid growing concern over the coronavirus pandemic.

The next opportunity on the calendar for owners to meet will be May 19-20 in Marina Del Ray, Ca. The primary function of these meetings is to discuss proposed rule changes.

This is just the latest in a number of moves the league and individual teams have taken in order to protect themselves from the spread of the coronavirus. Teams have pulled back scouts and coaches from attending pro day, canceled prospect visits and are even discussing options for the upcoming 2020 NFL draft.
