NFL communications released rookie minicamp dates for all 32 teams, including the New Orleans Saints. The Saints will try out a number of rookies and veteran free agents on May 10-12. This falls on the second weekend of eligible dates; 9 of 32 teams will hold their minicamp sessions between May 3-6, while the remaining 21 teams (including the Saints) are scheduled for the following weekend. This gives players an opportunity to try out for multiple teams.
The Saints will be evaluating a number of undrafted free agents during this rookie minicamp, most notably former LSU Tigers kicker Cole Tracy. This is really an audition for other teams, with the Saints having signed kicker Wil Lutz to a long-term extension earlier this year. They originally picked up Lutz after he had a tryout with the Baltimore Ravens, so they might be hoping to pay it forward with Tracy.
