NFL announces Broncos’ 2019 offseason schedule

The NFL announced the Denver Broncos’ 2019 offseason schedule on Monday. Here are the dates fans should know:

  • April 2: Phase 1 of offseason program (conditioning)
  • April 16-18: Voluntary minicamp
  • April 25-27: NFL draft in Nashville
  • May 10-12*: Rookie minicamp (estimated dates)
  • May 13-14, 16: OTAs (Week 1)
  • May 20-21, 23: OTAs (Week 2)
  • May 29-31: OTAs (Week 3)
  • June 4-6: Mandatory minicamp
  • July 17*: Estimated start of training camp
  • Aug. 1: Hall of Fame Game (start of preseason)

*The team’s rookie minicamp and training camp dates have not yet been announced.

Because the Broncos and Atlanta Falcons will play in this year’s Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 1, both teams will open training camp a week earlier than most NFL teams. Denver is also allowed to start its offseason program earlier because the team has a new head coach (Vic Fangio).

The Broncos’ complete training camp schedule will be announced later this summer. The team’s finalized preseason and regular season schedules are expected to be announced in April (we already know their opponents).

Because Denver will play in the Hall of Fame Game, the Broncos will have five preseason games in 2019. That will give players fighting to make the 53-man roster more opportunities to prove themselves on the field.
