NFL analyst shaves Seattle Seahawks logo on head after failed prediction

In fairness to NFL reporter Jason McIntyre, he was not alone in his prediction that the Seattle Seahawks would be a struggling team this past season.

After trading away quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos for a huge haul of draft picks, along with releasing defensive leader Bobby Wagner, it looked like Seattle would be at the beginning of a rebuild of their team - potentially struggling for a few seasons in order to acquire young talent. Even after defeating Wilson's Broncos on the opening day of the season, the team lost defensive star Jamal Adams to a season-ending injury.

But the Seahawks proved to be one of the surprises of the season, with quarterback Geno Smith transforming from a veteran back-up to Pro-Bowl starter in a turnaround that nobody saw coming.

One outlet, PFF, even ranked the Seahawks as having the worst roster in the NFL, with the betting lines having them as winning six games this season - something Jason McIntyre was shocked by.

Speaking on Colin Cowherd's Fox Sports show, McIntyre said: "If they get to above .500 (winning nine games) this season then I will shave the Seattle Seahawks logo into my head."

Cowherd responded with by saying: "I think you're safe." It turns out, he was not.

The Seahawks secured their ninth win on the final day of the season when they beat the Los Angeles Rams and secured their place in the playoffs in what was an impressive campaign from the young team.

Sticking true to his word, McIntyre did indeed shave the logo into his head, and appeared on the show on Tuesday to show the listeners. The analyst said that he will keep the logo on his head for the rest of the day and will shave it off on Wednesday.

McIntyre simply said: "Like my wife told me 'play stupid games, win stupid prizes.' So I have learned my listen and watch what I say when it comes to silly bets".

The Seahawks will be excited after their 2022 season, with a number of their rookies such as Tariq Woolen, Kenneth Walker, Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas playing at a strong level, with the team also set to receive the number five overall pick in this year's coming class after their trade with the Broncos for Russell Wilson.

Many expect the Seahawks to target a defensive player, after Smith's highly impressive 2022 season showing the NFL world that's a starting-calibre quarterback.
