NFL analyst calls the Patriots the ‘worst 6-0 team’ ever in the NFL

Not everyone is impressed with the New England Patriots’ 6-0 start in the 2019 season.

One NFL analyst even went as far as saying they are the “worst 6-0 team” in NFL history. Nice try if you guessed Max Kellerman and Nick Wright—two of the team’s go-to analysts for bulletin board material. However, if you guessed FOX Sports’ Rob Parker, you get a golden star for the day.

Most of the criticisms in Parker’s sensationalistic diatribe were aimed right in the direction of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and the offense.

“Tom Brady has three touchdown passes in the last three games, all against God-awful Washington. Didn’t have one against Buffalo, and didn’t get one against the sad Giants,” Parker said on FOX Sports Radio. “He had two fumbles and lost one Thursday night, and had a terrible interception. Besides his QB sneaks, he looked 42. That’s a bad offense, and there’s no degree of difficulty with the bad teams they’ve beaten up. It’s pathetic. They are the worst 6-0 team I’ve ever seen in the NFL and I’m not impressed. The one good team they played, Buffalo, they struggled with. I’m more convinced than ever that the Patriots will NOT make the AFC Championship Game.”

Granted, the Patriots haven’t looked like the typical offensive machine we’re accustomed to seeing, but it’s a stretch to call them the worst 6-0 team in NFL history. How many past 6-0 teams had a defense allowing an average of eight points per game?

As for the offense, they were stuck in the same personnel group for an entire half of the game against the Giants due to the bevy of injuries the team has sustained. Never mind the fact that Brady is playing behind a makeshift offensive line with no reliable pass-blocking tight end and few receiving weapons.

Starting left tackle Isaiah Wynn is expected to come back at some point in the season, and the eventual return of rookie first-round draft pick N’Keal Harry could give the depleted receiving corps a significant boost. Patriots coach Bill Belichick could also have something up his sleeve ahead of the trade deadline.

Yet, the NFL season wouldn’t be complete without some outlandish Rob Parker take on the Patriots. How’s Mexico treating you this time of the year, Rob?
