The NFL will give New Yorkers more opportunities to watch teams other than the Jets and Giants in 2019.
Owners met at the NFL Spring League Meeting Wednesday and made a change to the “single-header rule.” Fans can now watch another game on a different network when a local team is playing at a certain time. Before the rule change, no other game could be broadcasted when a local team was playing.
Now, every market will get three games aired on Sundays.
This tweak mainly affects markets with two teams. It was mainly aimed at the New York market, but also affects Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas and California, all states that have more than one team.
So, if you don’t feel like watching the Jets or Giants next season, feel free to put on whatever game is broadcasted on the other network.
