NFL 2020 salary cap set at $198.2 million, Raiders with 10th-most cap space

It was a busy Sunday for the NFL. No time to take the weekend off because the free-agent negotiating period is set to begin Monday. If that was to go down on time, the salary cap needed to be set. The word has come down and the cap is set at $198.2 million for 2020.

Projections were at $200 million prior to this, so most projections as to how much cap space each team had wasn’t far off.

The Raiders sit right at 10th-most cap space in the league. Here is what the full top ten looks like according to overthecap.com:

  1. Dolphins $87,850,174
  2. Colts $85,935,255
  3. Bills $81,986,213
  4. Buccaneers $79,894,844
  5. Giants $78,435,117
  6. Cowboys $74,268,123
  7. Browns $67,679,940
  8. Titans $66,113,327
  9. Washington $61,078,737
  10. Raiders $55,405,596

There’s a lot of free-agent additions that could be made with $55.4M in cap money. Some need areas are more vital than others.  But rest assured there are players out there to fill those needs should the Raiders be inclined to go get them.
