NFC West standings after Week 4: 49ers on top after bye week

The NFC West wrapped up its games for Week 4 and there is a surprise team at the top. The San Francisco 49ers are now in first place all alone and the only undefeated team in the division.

Of course, they had a Week 4 bye, so they did not have the opportunity to lose. They are 3-0.

Previously unbeaten, the Los Angeles Rams lost a wild game on Sunday. They fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 55-40. Former Cardinals coach Bruce Arians and his staff attacked the Rams defense and forced quarterback Jared Goff to throw three interceptions and to fumble once. He threw for more than 500 yards but Bucs QB Jameis Winston threw for 385 yards and four touchdowns.

The Rams are now 3-1.

The Seattle Seahawks improved to 3-1 with a 27-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Arizona, with the loss, remains winless at 0-3-1.

Coming up in Week 5, the Rams and Seahawks will play in Seattle Thursday night, meaning one will take a one-game lead over the other, provided there is no tie.

The Cardinals head on the road to play the 0-3 Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams still are in search of their first win of the season.

The 49ers will not play until Monday night. They host the 2-2 Cleveland Browns, who are coming off a 40-25 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
