NFC North Week 8 Standings: Lions stay on bottom after another division loss

The Detroit Lions have lost two division games in a row — well, two losses in the stat column — and have gotten themselves into a difficult spot. Fortunately, the schedule isn’t as difficult moving forward, but they’ll have to make the most of every game from here on out.

So as we enter Week 8, here is how the NFC North currently stands.

NFC North Standings

Green Bay Packers (6-1)
Minnesota Vikings (5-2)
Chicago Bears (3-3)
Detroit Lions (2-3-1)

Lions-Vikings Recap

Rather than force you to relive another recap of this game, I’ll let you pick and choose what you’re interested from the articles written about last Sunday’s game:

Next up for Lions: they host the New York Giants (2-5) and are currently 6.5-point favorites.

Next up for Vikings: they host the Washington Redskins (1-6).

Packers beat Raiders 42-24

Like the Vikings, the Packers offense is on fire right now, with Aaron Rodgers settling into coach Matt LeFleur’s offensive system. Rodgers threw for 429 yards — to eight different pass catchers — for five touchdowns, finishing with a ridiculous 158.3 passer rating. He also ran for a touchdown.

Next week: the Packers travel to a Patrick Mahomes-less Kansas City Chiefs (5-2).

Bears lose to Saints 36-25

Are Bears fans beginning to turn on Mitchell Trubisky? The crowd at Soldier Field sure let him know they were unhappy with his poor performances and inability to command the offense on Sunday.

The game wasn’t nearly as close as the score indicates. The Bears Cordarrelle Patterson ran a kickoff back for a touchdown in the first quarter, they kicked a field goal in the second, and the final 15 points came in the fourth quarter once the game was in hand.

Next Week: The Bears host the Los Angeles Chargers (2-5)
