NFC North Week 7 Standings: Lions land on bottom after frustrating loss

The Detroit Lions entered Week 6 with an unusual set of circumstances: win and you sit at the top of the NFC North, lose and you drop to last place. The Lions were on the wrong end of a brutal set of officiating blunders, but the standings don’t care how you win/lose, it only cares about the result.

So as we enter Week 7, here is how the NFC North currently stands.

NFC North Standings

Green Bay Packers (5-1)
Minnesota Vikings (4-2)
Chicago Bears (3-2)
Detroit Lions (2-2-1)

Lions-Packers Recap

Rather than force you to relive another recap, I’ll let you pick and choose what you’re interested from the articles written about last nights game:

Next up for Packers: they host the Raiders (3-2).

Next up for Lions: they host the Vikings (4-2).

The Bears rise one spot while on a bye

Like the Lions in Week 5, the Bears benefit by staying off the field in Week 6. They have a difficult task ahead of them this weekend.

Next Week: The Bears (3-2) host the New Orleans Saints (5-1)

Vikings soar past Eagles 38-20

Well, it looks like Kirk Cousins and Stefon Diggs have repaired their relationship. After a couple miscues and drops early, the two hooked up for seven catches on 11 targets for 167 yards and three touchdowns. Not to be left out, Adam Thielen took one of his six catches to the house for a score. The Vikings took advantage of the Eagles being without two starting cornerbacks.

The Vikings were up two touchdowns at the half but let the Eagles pull within four points. On the ensuing possession, the Vikings put together five-plus minute, nine-play 75-yard drive ending in Diggs third touchdown score, and you could see the Eagles deflate. Dalvin Cook’s fourth-quarter touchdown sealed the deal, putting a cap on an average day that saw him rush for 41 yards.

Next week: the Vikings (4-2) travel to Detroit to face the Lions (2-2-1) but don’t expect the home team to take the same approach as the Eagles.
