NFC North Week 2 roundup: Packers, Bears remain undefeated

The Packers continue to do their thing, the Bears won another nail biter while the Vikings just might be the most disappointing team in the league through two weeks.

Here’s your Week 2 NFC North roundup.

Packers, 2-0

Result: Packers 42, Lions 21

If you had Aaron Jones in fantasy football, we’re happy for you. Jones piled up more than 200 total yards and three touchdowns in this blowout.

The Packers look like far-away the best team in the NFC North. I’m not sure what that exactly means since the rest of the division isn’t super impressive, but here we are.

Green Bay’s biggest test will be in Week 3 against Drew Brees in New Orleans.

Bears, 2-0

Result: Bears 17, Giants 13

For the second straight week, the Bears held off a team in the final seconds.

Is Mitch Trubisky the answer at quarterback? Maybe not, but with this defense, Trubisky needs to just not make too many mistakes (he threw for two interceptions in this one) similar to how he played in 2018.

The Bears’ lock-down defense will be tested against a high-flying Falcons’ offense that has been on fire to start the season. That will be a huge thermometer to see just where the Bears are.

Lions, 0-2

Result: Lions 21, Packers 42

The Lions should be 1-1, but D’Andre Swift had a tough time catching a pass in Week 1.

Detroit had a 14-3 lead early, but as we know with the Lions, that wasn’t actually real.

You really have to wonder just how much time Matt Patricia has left with this team.

Up Next: @Cardinals (9/27)

Vikings, 0-2

Result: Vikings 11, Colts 28

So, um, maybe the Vikings are going to be really bad? In Week 1, it was the defense that looked horrendous. While the defense wasn’t great against the Colts, it was Kirk Cousins’ offense that had all the problems.

Instead of a 10-6 season Vikings’ fans were hoping for, we might be looking at a 6-10 record . . . or worse.

I’m not super optimistic the team will be able to turn it around in Week 3 against a very tough Titans squad.
