NFC North watch: Packers coach Matt LaFleur tears his Achilles

One of the hazards of OTAs is the injury factor. It’s not uncommon for a player or two to suffer a major injury during the voluntary spring workouts. But in the case of the Green Bay Packers, the injury bug bit rookie head coach Matt LaFleur. Hard.

LaFleur tore his Achilles tendon while playing knockout (or lightning, depending on your name for the game) basketball at Lambeau Field on Wednesday. He will need surgery and it will keep him hobbled for the upcoming offseason schedule.

According to Packers Wire, the Packers coaching staff frequently plays basketball at the facility. LaFleur, 39, likes to get physically involved in the offensive drills, so this will require the rookie coach to adjust his style a bit.
