NFC East watch: Giants lose Landon Collins, Odell Beckham Jr.

The Washington Redskins have to feel like winners of the NFC East arms race right about now.

It started with the Redskins agreeing to sign former Giants safety Landon Collins to a massive contract. The Giants refused to use the franchise tag on him, so the Redskins grabbed him up quickly.

And now the Giants have decided it best to ship Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.

The Redskins can’t complain, right? The Giants get back a first and third-round pick, as well as a lesser Collins replacement. But it is clear they are in a full-blown rebuild, still dragging along Eli Manning while focusing on Saquon Barkley.

The Redskins, by comparison, remain in win-now mode after the Case Keenum move before spending on Collins. On paper, the Redskins should remain above the Giants in large part because those Giants keep pulling off self-inflicted wounds.
