NFC East news: Redskins fire head coach Jay Gruden

When the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Washington D.C. to face the Redskins later this season, they’ll be dealing with a new head coach. According to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com, the Redskins have fired head coach Jay Gruden.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Redskins will name offensive line coach and assistant head coach Bill Callahan their interim coach following the firing of Gruden.

Gruden is out after a 33-7 home loss to the Patriots on Sunday dropped the Redskins to 0-5 for the first time since 2001. Gruden has an overall record of 35-49-1, with just one playoff appearance, in 2015.
