NFC East News: Giants trading pass rusher Olivier Vernon to the Browns

Carson Wentz and the Eagles can breather a little easier today, as another top pass rusher is leaving the NFC East for the AFC. According to multiple reports, the Giants are trading linebacker and pass rusher Olivier Vernon to the Cleveland Browns for guard Kevin Zeitler.

Vernon is due $15.5 million each of the two remaining years on his deal, which was easy to absorb for the Browns who had about $77 million in cap space to work with entering today. With free agency lacking a ton of edge rushers, the move makes sense for the Browns and Vernon, who could see his production rise as a secondary rusher to Cleveland star defensive end, Myles Garrett.
