NFC East news: Cowboys to hire former Packers HC Mike McCarthy to replace Jason Garrett

The Dallas Cowboys waited until Wild Card Weekend to officially move on from Jason Garrett and according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the team will name Mike McCarthy as their new head coach.

McCarthy went 125-77 in 13 years as the Packers coach, winning 10 playoff games and a Super Bowl.

McCarthy was fired by the Packers in December 2018 after his relationship with quarterback Aaron Rodgers went south. He’ll now be tasked with taking Dak Prescott to the next level as a passer while getting the most out of all that talent Jerry Jones has assembled.
