Barcelona striker Luis Suarez claims Neymar was ready "to do everything" in order to seal a return to the Catalan club this summer.
Neymar will be staying at Paris Saint-Germain for another season as Barca failed to agree a deal for their former forward before the transfer window closed earlier this week.
Suarez shares a WhatsApp group with Neymar and Lionel Messi and the Uruguayan said the three had been back in contact since Monday night.
"We speak from time to time," Suarez told Fox Sports Radio. "In that group, we hadn't spoken much lately. But we have recently chatted again, now that everything is more calm.
"Knowing everything that had happened, and everything Neymar had experienced, we respected his space and time."
Neymar left Barca for PSG for a world record fee of €222 million in 2017, but was keen to return to Camp Nou this summer.
"We spoke with Ney when he wanted to leave," Suarez said. "At the time, he decided it was best for him.
“And now his decision was to do everything to come back."
