Neymar transfer talks "more advanced" as Brazilian is left out of PSG squad

Neymar will not play for Paris Saint-Germain against Nimes in their opening game of Ligue 1 tomorrow night - with the club busy orchestrating his departure.

PSG's sporting director, Leandro, has revealed that they are in "advanced talks" regarding Neymar 's exit from the French capital.

At a press conference, manager Thomas Tuchel claimed the 27-year-old "is still a little injured" and therefore has been unable to train this week, hence his exclusion from tomorrow's match day squad.

Leandro, 49, stated they have not reached an agreement with any specific clubs despite some big names being linked with the Brazilian international.

According to Marca , he suggested that progress is being made and that it is best for all parties to find a swift solution.

He said: "Talks more advanced than before, but there's no agreement. We will see what happens - everybody needs the future to be resolved."

There has been talk of Neymar returning to his former club, Barcelona , while whispers emerged about him heading to their rivals, Real Madrid .

It is a transfer story which has been lurking for some time and while the window remains open in other parts of Europe, the Brazilian's situation remains a talking point.

He joined Barcelona from Santos for £49million in 2013 and went on to score 105 goals in 186 appearances for the reigning Spanish champions.

After four years in La Liga, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee of £200million during the summer of 2017.

Since moving to France, he has an impressive 51 goals in 58 games but now appears to have his heart set on a fresh start elsewhere.

Europe's top clubs have until the first week of September to finalise their transfer dealings and the million dollar question remains - where will Neymar go next?
