Neymar transfer negotiations begin between PSG and Barcelona - but don't go well

Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have held their first round of talks over a deal to take Neymar back to Spain.

But according to reports in France, they didn’t go anything like Barcelona chiefs were expecting.

Neymar is keen to return to Camp Nou and has told PSG chiefs of his desire to “return home”.

That led to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently declaring that superstar attitudes will no longer be tolerated at the Parc des Princes.

"They are not there for their own amusement,” he told France Football. "If they do not agree, the doors are open - Ciao! I do not want star behaviour anymore.”

As such, Barcelona have begun their push to bring the Brazil superstar back to Catalunya - while the player has acquiesced to their demands including taking a wage cut.

However, negotiations between the two parties are certainly not going to be easy; PSG want their full £200million transfer outlay back, while Barcelona simply cannot afford to do that without selling at present - and want to negotiate a cheaper deal.

The Barca delegation was, according to Le Parisien, surprisingly led by president Josep Bartomeu; usually Bartomeu only steps in at the last moment, if he feels like a deal is getting away.

However, seemingly PSG are in the mood to play hardball, because reports in France say that they refused to begin negotiations over a prospective sale.

Seemingly, the French champions are determined that the Brazilian goes public and declares his desire to return to Spain - something he has yet to do.
