Neymar transfer latest as Barcelona and PSG step up negotiations over mega-money deal

Neymar has told Paris Saint-Germain that he is only interested in a move to Barcelona .

But the Spanish giants’ latest bid has again been rejected by the French champions.

The Brazilian superstar is desperate to return to his former club, who sent a transfer delegation to Paris on Tuesday morning.

Barca CEO Oscar Grau, sporting director Eric Abidal, director Javier Bordas and Brazilian scout Andre Cury were all filmed by Catalan TV station TV3 arriving at Barcelona airport, catching a flight to the French capital.

It comes after Neymar held talks with PSG sporting director Leonardo on Monday to make clear that he only wants to return to Barcelona, and has no interest in joining Real Madrid .

Real Madrid have made overtures to take him to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, and numerous reports in France and Spain have claimed that PSG prefer to sell him to Los Blancos.

PSG have been annoyed by Barcelona’s attempts to do a deal for the 27-year-old at a cut rate, as well as Neymar’s push to leave; he has not featured for Thomas Tuchel’s side since declaring his desire to depart over the summer.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Leonardo both met with Barca chiefs, with just six days of the European transfer window remaining.

Barca’s latest offer, according to Le Parisien, is to take Neymar on loan for the season, with an obligation to buy for £154million - paying one lump sum either next summer or in 2021.

It would also see Ousmane Dembele head to the Parc des Princes on loan at the same time, with PSG having an option to make the deal permanent if they desired.

That’s despite the 22-year-old having told PSG coach Tuchel - his former boss at Borussia Dortmund - that he wants to remain in Spain this term.

However, the deal hasn’t tempted PSG, who are keen to sign Nelson Semedo, now Barca's first-choice right-back.

As such negotiations will continue, with Barcelona desperately scrambling to land Neymar before September 2, but PSG continuing to hold the upper hand.
