Neymar suffers Barcelona transfer blow as Ousmane Dembele phone call puts PSG exit on hold

Paul Pogba and Matthijs De Ligt's futures have had supporters searching for updates all summer.

Everyone loves a juicy transfer tale and with several elite teams in the mix to land a pair of world superstars, what's not to like?

The Dutchman plumped for Juventus over Paris Saint-Germain and completed his £67million deal on Wednesday. Pogba 's final destination appears clearer as well with Manchester United ready to dig their heels in and keep the wantaway Frenchman.

But both of these signing sagas pale into insignificance when it comes to the king of transfer season - Neymar.

The Brazilian craves the limelight and the collective football world can't keep their eyes off the 27-year-old as they await a final decision over his future.

PSG splashed the cash to land Neymar in a £197m deal in 2017 but the Ligue 1 big-spenders are ready to move on if they can agree a deal.

Barcelona are interested in reuniting with their former star but face a financial balancing act after Antonie Griezmann's £107m arrival from Atletico Madrid.

One potential remedy for the La Liga side would be to move on either one or both of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele this summer.

Sky Sports in Germany claim the Nou Camp side have submitted a list of six players who their Euro rivals could potentially sign as a makeweight.

Dembele in particular has been strongly linked with a return to his homeland and reuniting with his former Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel in Paris.

And now Le Parisien are reporting the German has made contact with his former starlet over the blower as he looks to tempt the French international home.

But Tuchel's tease didn't hit the spot and the player is believed to have told his ex-boss he wants to stay in Barcelona to prove his worth.

Neymar, who loves to burst some moves on the pitch, is still waiting for PSG to find a transfer dance partner as he targets a return to the bright lights of Barcelona.

The world superstar is desperate for a fresh start with Paris hell-bent on building their new-look side around Kylian Mbappe this season.

Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is desperate for to finally secure the Champions League and he's ready to move on from his marquee signing.
