Neymar's 'revealing' interview footage stolen as PSG star eyes Barcelona return

A Brazilian television show has claimed footage of a 'revealing' interview with wantaway Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has been stolen.

Popular variety programme 'Aqui na Band' sat down with the Brazil international earlier this month for an exclusive interview with the 27-year-old.

The interview took place at the Neymar Jr Foundation on the coast of Sao Paulo and the show spoke to both Neymar and the director of the facility.

However, the production team was later robbed of the footage and discovered the theft when they saw the boot of their car had been damaged.

Reporter Joao Paulo Vergueiro was present when the interviews were recorded and detailed exactly what had been stolen in the heist.

"It was a card, that's what they took. We recorded it, recorded it with the director of the institute and especially with Neymar in the exclusive interview," said Vergueiro.

"He has important information about the future he wanted to discuss. We hope to fully recover the card and display this interview."

Oh My Goal US then later tweeted Aqui na Band to inform them their cameras had continued to roll and had footage of the interview if they wished to use it.

With the interview said to have discussed the Brazilian's future, Neymar may well have spoken about where he would like to play next term.

The 27-year-old is currently under contract for another three years with PSG, but has been trying to force through a return to Barcelona .

The Brazil international has not returned back for pre-season training with the French giants, invoking the wrath of club president Nasser El-Khelaifi.

Neymar joined the Ligue 1 champions for a world-record fee of £198m in the summer of 2017 and has helped PSG to win four major domestic honours in the past two seasons.

However, the 27-year-old does not see a future for himself in the French capital and is hopeful of completing a sensational return to Barca this summer.

But with the Catalan giants having already signed Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, it remains to be seen whether they have the required finances to bring Neymar back.
