NEW DELHI: Bruna Biancardi, Neymar's girlfriend, posted on her verified Instagram account that thieves broke into the Brazilian star's home and took her parents hostage early on Tuesday morning in Sao Paulo.
According to local media, one of the three armed robbers — a neighbour of Biancardi's parents — has been captured, and the house is located in Cotia, a city in the Sao Paulo metropolitan area.
According to news source R7, the three had been adamant about knowing Biancardi's and her infant daughter's whereabouts. On Instagram, Biancardi announced that she and her daughter were no longer residing at the house.
The attackers fled with jewellery, watches, and opulent purses, according to online news source G1. Biancardi's parents were also restrained and muzzled.
Security camera footage revealed that the escape car was owned by a neighbour, who told authorities that he had loaned it to his son. The 20-year-old was quickly found and admitted to the theft, according to G1.
“Material things are recovered, the important thing is that everyone is OK and that the people involved are being found,” Biancardi wrote. Neymar also lamented the attack on his own Instagram account, without providing any details.
