Neymar picture leaves PSG 'concerned' ahead of pre-season return

PSG are concerned about Neymar ahead of his return after pictures emerged of the Brazilian on holiday, according to reports.

The forward is enjoying an extended break away from the French capital after competing in the Copa America.

Neymar recently penned a new contract at the Parc des Princes, but according to RMC Sport images of him looking out of shape have been noted in Paris.

The world's most expensive signing has been pictured partying on a yacht.

He has also shared images of himself alongside team-mate Marco Verratti, who too is enjoying an extended break.

Neymar is about to enter his fifth season at PSG having moved from Barcelona in 2017.

He has continued to score goals with regularity and helped the Parisians dominate domestically, although they did surrender their Ligue 1 title last term.

However the Champions League continues to elude him and the club, who crave continental success.

Neymar has helped PSG reach the final and semi-final in successive seasons, but they have continued to fall short.

The Qatari-backed club will hope fellow star Kylian Mbappe signs a new deal in the coming months and his contract winds down.

Mauricio Pochettino is set for his first full season at the helm and has already added plenty of class to his squad.

Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Sergio Ramos all arrived on frees whilst Achraf Hakimi was signed from Inter Milan.

PSG's season hasn't got off to an ideal start however after Lille beat them in the Trophee des champions.

“It was a final, so it’s disappointing. Overall, throughout the match we were the better team, but despite our domination in the second half we were unable to win," said Pochettino.

"Congratulations to Lille, it’s the start of the campaign and we have bigger things to go and win this season.”

Pochettino has extended his deal with PSG in the last fortnight, taking him through until 2023.

The 49-year-old said: "I'm really very happy, for myself and also for my staff.

"It's very important for us to feel the confidence of the club and we will give our maximum so that the supporters are proud of Paris St Germain.

"That's why we will try and reach our objectives altogether, as one. Twenty years ago I was captain of this club and today I am the coach. It's a dream come true."
