Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar’s latest silky skills had even his fellow professionals purring during Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final clash with Manchester City.

The divisive Brazilian started alongside Kylian Mbappe - who shook off a knock that forced him off early against Metz over the weekend - and Angel Di Maria in a typically stylish PSG front three for the first-leg meeting at the Parc des Princes.

And Neymar was in excellent form during the first half in the French capital, delving into his extensive box of tricks and giving City’s defence a torrid time with his remarkably quick feet, skill, audacious flicks and direct running, linking up nicely with Mbappe and Di Maria.

His scintillating display led to gushing praise from other talented playmakers on social media, with Aston Villa and England maverick Jack Grealish tweeting: “Scary how good he is.”

Meanwhile, Leicester’s James Maddison posted: “Is there a more enjoyable player to watch in the world than Neymar ? Not for me..”

However, Neymar endured a much quieter second half as PSG - who led at the interval through Marquinhos’ 15th-minute header - fell behind courtesy of Kevin De Bruyne and a free-kick from Riyad Mahrez that went straight through the wall.

Idrissa Gueye also saw red late on for a shocking challenge on Ilkay Gundogan.
