Neymar makes PSG admission as he eyes Champions League comeback vs Man City

Neymar claims he will "die on the pitch" in order to turnaround PSG's Champions League tie against Manchester City.

The Parisians trail 2-1 from the first-leg following their defeat at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.

It means they will have to upset the odds at the Etihad if they are to make a second successive European cup final.

Neymar has previously won the competition with Barcelona back in 2015 but is fully immersed in the Paris project.

PSG's owner crave Champions League success and the Brazilian is ready to lead them into battle.

He told the club's official media channel : “The first thing to do now is to rest and then really refocus on the Champions League.

"We had a very tough first leg against Manchester City but we have to believe it no matter what the stats say or our percentage chance of winning.

"I think every Parisian should believe in us! I’m in the front line, and I’ll be the first warrior who goes into battle for the team.

"I will give the best of myself and I will do anything to bring this back no matter what, even if I have to die on the pitch."

PSG warmed up for their Champions League clash with a win over Lens in which Neymar scored the opener.

The French side capitulated in the second-half of their defeat to City last week as they squandered a 1-0 lead and finished with ten men.

Mauricio Pochettino, who was only appointed a few months ago, has himself made a Champions League final with Tottenham.

He did so thanks to a miracle comeback against Ajax in Amsterdam and the Argentine is again choosing to have faith.

"The second leg - in football you need to believe. They have the advantage," he said on Wednesday.
