Neymar makes Kylian Mbappe claim amid Liverpool transfer links

Neymar has declared that he is happy at Paris Saint-Germain and that he hopes Liverpool-linked Kylian Mbappe wants to stay with the club too.

The Reds have had their name in the frame for Mbappe for several months with speculation over the player’s future.

With less than 18 months remaining on Mbappe’s current deal, both Liverpool and Real Madrid have been regularly linked with a potential big money transfer for the France World Cup winner.

Neymar’s contract also runs until the summer of 2022, but the Brazilian insists that he is content in the French capital where former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino replaced Thomas Tuchel at the start of January.

The Mirror quote him as saying: “Many things have changed.

“I'm happy at PSG and I want to stay in Paris, I hope Mbappe will do the same."

The pair became the world’s two most expensive footballers when they arrived at PSG in 2017 with Neymar costing €222million (£198million) and Mbappe €180million (£163million), although the latter was initially a season-long loan which became a permanent deal the following summer.

Both played in PSG’s shock 3-2 defeat to 18th-placed Lorient on Sunday, Pochettino’s first Ligue 1 loss since taking charge, with Neymar netting both of the visitors’ goals.
